Options and Settings:
It is important to realize that NO
SETTINGS are stored. This is due to security reasons. No data is written or
saved in the registry, temp files or file system and even program memory is wiped clean
on unloading. Therefore, each time you run CloakPass, you must choose your
settings and enter your cloaking key to start the program. You do not need to
enter a new key for each password but only each time you start
CloakPass. Once started, the program keeps the key
in memory and sits in the tool bar.

Help:
Takes you to this web site for assistance.
Do Not Limit Size:
Free version limits your cloaked passwords to the number of
characters you type. Checking this box allows your cloaked password to be longer
than you type and includes the entire cloaked string. Thus your
encrypted/scrambled password may be longer than what you type depending on the
size of your Cloak Key.
Include Special Characters:
Free version limited to letters and numbers only. When checked,
allows the encrypted/scrambled password to use characters like $^& . If this box
is unchecked your scrambled password will contain only letters and numbers. Some
systems will not accept special characters. If you want a specific
character, type it in and then use CtlAltP to encrypt the rest of your password.
Cloak Letter by Letter:
Scrambles/Encrypts your password letter by letter as you
type it. This option is useful if you want to see exactly what is being entered
as you type. If you click off the field with your mouse, the correct password
will be entered, however, everything you continue typing will be scrambled until
you press escape, tab, or enter key. If someone is trying to watch your entry,
it will drive them nuts.
Strengthen PW (Password): When checked, password
will contain a capital letter, a small letter and a number.
Cloaking Key 1:
In the Standard and Pro programs. A cloaking key is
required for the quality scrambling to work. Every password will use this same
cloaking key. So if you change this key, all your scrambled
passwords are changed together. Allows you to keep the very same password, and
yet change all the entries on the web site. You must enter this key only
once each time you start
CloakPass. Nothing is saved between runs. No data is written to the machine,
registry or file system. This key can be used by pressing CNTL-ALT-P keys
together. Think of the P as Password, or Present key.
Cloaking Key 2:
Pro version only. This is where you can place a second
cloaking key to assist you in changing your passwords. If both key 1 and key 2 are
entered, then you have a choice of keys to scramble your password. CNTL-ALT-P
for key 1 and CTRL-ALT-N for the New key (key 2). Think of
Next or New key. This way, when a system asks for your old password
and your new password as you change them, you can simply select which one to use
as appropriate. To use encryption simulating the free program, use
CNTL-ALT-O (for Old key).
